Eagles withstand Bulldogs’ runs
The Zionsville Eagles softball team stood strong as they kept withstanding the swings of momentum from the charging Brownsburg Bulldogs.
Preventing that final push and finishing the game strong, the Eagles won the Hoosier Crossroads Conference game 4-3 over the Bulldogs on Tuesday, May 8.
"We’ve got our own momentum and we’ve got girls who make big plays which always steals the thunder from any team who is trying to make a move,” Zionsville coach Lori Esparza said.

Three cheers for local girl’s fight against cancer
Emily Del Vecchio’s parents described her as a typical Zionsville girl that loved to cheer and be at the center of attention with her long blonde hair.
But like most routines, Emily’s life was cut short Friday, May 11, from complications due to osteosarcoma, a type of cancer found in the bone.
Her parents, Joe and Lori Del Vecchio, said she was at a cheer practice in January 2011 when they knew something was wrong with their then 9-year-old daughter.
