Viking Fest returns to Whitestown with all its skillet tossing fun Friday through Sunday.

The family event blends history, entertainment, and fun-filled activities.

Visitors will see Viking reenactors swing weapons in battle in the arena and may explore the wooded area at Anson Acres Park to see Viking villages.

The villages provide attendees with a glimpse into the lives and traditions of Vikings.

“Last year we welcomed over 3,500 Viking enthusiasts into our community,” Whitestown Town Manager Katie Barr said.

“This family event is a unique and fun experience and we’re excited to see everyone gather and prepare for a voyage to a time of Vikings.”

The main stage will feature live music and performances throughout the event. Attendees can walk around to the different artisans selling their crafted items including clothing, jewelry, soaps, and more.

Food will be available from a variety of vendors and those attending can enjoy traditional mead.

Children can unleash their inner Vikings by conquering the inflatables.

The inflatables will close at dark on both Friday and Saturday evenings.

Adventurous men and women can test their strength in the keg toss competition.

Young Vikings can also compete in the thrilling iron skillet toss. Prizes will be awarded to each age group.

“We invite visitors of all ages to join us for a weekend filled with thrilling reenactments, artisan crafts, and unforgettable experiences,” said Dominic Cornett, director of Whitestown Parks and Recreation.

“Bring your friends and family on a journey through time while creating lasting memories together.”

Hours of operation will be 4-9 p.m. Friday, noon-9 p.m. Saturday, and noon-5 p.m. Sunday in the park at 4671 Anson Boulevard.
