VIP Christmas for special needs families
A very important person Christmas event for special needs families is from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., at the Hussey-Mayfield Memorial Public Library, 250 N. Fifth St., Zionsville.

Tri Kappa Santa Breakfast
Tri Kappa of Zionsville will have its annual Santa Breakfast at 8 a.m. or 9:30 a.m. at Stonegate Elementary, 7312 W. Stonegate Dr.

Parade hits Main
The parade down Main Street to kick start the Christmas in the Village - A Zionsville Tradition, will begin at 9:30 a.m.
Santa will arrive to town through the parade. It will be lead by the Zionsville Community High School Marching Band.

• 2012 Holiday Stroll “Treasure the Holidays” — 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Bring children to the library on the free Christmas in the Village trolley to see holiday tree displays, make crafts and hear live music. The Melchior Marionettes and magician Don Miller will also be performing.
• Zionsville United Methodist Church Handbell Choir — 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., first floor.
• Holiday Cabaret on Strings — 11 a.m. to noon and 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. Get in the holiday spirit as the Melchior Marionettes present their holiday show.
• Strolling Strings — 2 p.m. to 3 p.m., first floor.
• Tom Duncan (musician) — 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., second floor.

Horse drawn carriage rides
Complimentary carriage rides through the village will be available from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Brick Street Inn, 175 S. Main St.
Antique trolley rides
Board the trolley on Main Street under the Zionsville Clock at Main and Cedar streets anytime from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The trolley will loop through the village and make stops at the following locations: Corner of Main and Cedar streets; Hussey-Mayfield Memorial Public Library, 250 S. Elm St.; Akard True Value in Boone Village, 25 Boone Village Dr.; and the SullivanMunce Cultural Center, 205 W. Hawthorne St.
Annual bake sale
The SullivanMunce Cultural Center Guild will have their annual bake sale from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the center, 205 W. Hawthorne St.
Elf scavenger hunt
Visit Akard True Value Hardware, 25 Boone Village Drive, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and explore the store on an elf scavenger hunt. Holiday refreshments, crafts and special gifts will be provided.
Chili bowl sale
From 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., more than 100 handmade chili bowls will be on sale at the SullivanMunce Cultural Center, 205 W. Hawthorne St. Buy a handcrafted ceramic bowl for $10 and have it filled with hot, homemade chili for free.
Deck the Hearth
Visit The Hearth at Tudor Gardens, 11755 North Michigan Road, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. for a holiday open house featuring 30 themed wreaths decorated by local businesses and talented decorators from the Zionsville area. Bid on these wreaths during the silent auction.
Show Choirs host home tour
The Zionsville Community High School Show Choirs will host a holiday home tour from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The Carol of Homes tour features six homes in the Village and surrounding neighborhoods decorated in festive decor by homeowners, local florists and designers.
The Royalaires and Choralaires will perform in each home.
Tickets are $20 and can be purchased at Akard True Value Hardware, 25 Boone Village Center, Kogan Antiques and Lighting, 195 S. Main St., or at the high school box office, 1000 Mulberry St.

Garden plots available
Garden plots are now available for the 2013 season from St. Francis-in-the-Fields Episcopal Church, 1525 Mulberry St.
Each plot is 20 feet by 20 feet and has easy access to water.
Cost is $35, and the church is requesting that 10 percent of the harvest be donated to local food pantries.

Town offers garden plots
The Zionsville Park and Recreation Department will take reservations for garden plots for the 2013 season.
Reservations will be taken from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday at Town Hall, 1100 W. Oak St.
The gardens will be at the southwest corner of the intersection of County Roads 400 South and 875 East and at Elm Street Green in the Village.
Plots are 20 feet by 20 feet in size with a rental cost of $20 per plot. The plots are available on a first-come, first-serve basis.
Water and parking will be provided at both sites.
