Zionsville —
Sometimes even the best scouting reports go awry.
Zionsville coach Shaun Busick stated that his scouting report on Lafayette Jeff coming into Friday, Jan. 4’s game had the Bronchos as approximately a 22 percent three-point shooting team.
The Bronchos took care of that assessment early.
Lafayette Jeff connected 10 times on 18 attempts from long-range and used a late surge to earn a 62-56 Hoosier Crossroads Conference victory.
“My scouting report was terrible tonight,” Busick said about the three-point outburst. “Tonight it felt like they shot about 80 percent. You have to give Jeff credit. They came out and won the game. They out-executed us, outplayed us, out-coached us, won 50-50 balls, defended better, and the paint tonight had to look like the parting of the Red Sea.”
