Eagles' lacrosse off to a winning start
The Zionsville lacrosse team battled against Brebeuf Jesuit under the lights at Eagles’ stadium Wednesday night, March 25.
Both the Eagles’ Junior Varsity and Varsity teams won their games against the Braves.
In the junior varsity contest, the score was 10-1, while the Varsity moved its record to 2-0 with a 13-0 shutout victory.
The team was able to avenge an early-season loss to Brebeuf the year before. Earlier in the season, the Eagles defeated Pike 21-2.
Goalie Blake Manual started with a strong start leading the team as captain, helping with multiple saves and a shutout against Brebeuf. He leads the state in saves as a goalie so far this season.
Tyler Dicke led the Eagles with four goals against Brebeuf, while Tom Spoonmore added three goals in the winning effort.
The Varsity will next take the field on Wednesday, April 8 against Guerin. Both squads will be back in action two days later at Center Grove.
