Community donates items for homeless veterans
The Kappa Theta (Zionsville) Chapter of Epsilon Sigma Alpha collected more than $7,000-worth of winter and personal care items during the fourth annual Winter Warm-Up for Homeless Veterans.

Kovener performs in recital
Zionsville native Meredith Kovener, a freshman equestrian studies/environmental, safety and occupational health management major, played “Concerto No. 3 in E flat Major K. 447” by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart on the horn during an instrumental recital recently at The University of Findlay in Findlay, Ohio.

Habitat ‘Made by Milk’
Stonegate elementary students work with Ryan LaPlante, Stonegate STEM teacher, to make an Amazon Rainforest project as part of the Made by Milk contest. The task was to create a habitat using at least 100 recycled milk cartons.

The Zionsville Community High School Book Club members attended the visit and book signing of author Mary Pearson last month at the Hussey-Mayfield Memorial Public Library.

4 articles picked best in class
Ryan Batsie’s seventh grade class at Zionsville West Middle School read “The Outsiders” by S.E. Hinton. After reading the book, students in his class wrote articles in which they described a central message the author intended and identified today’s “outsiders” as well as how they should be treated. The four articles were chosen as the top in the class: -
