Lieutenant posts OK’d

The Zionsville Board of Police Commissioners unanimously approved the creation of two lieutenant positions during its meeting Monday morning, Nov. 26.

Zionsville Police Chief Rob Knox told the commissioners the department needed more middle-level managers.

“With the department growing, I believe that it is warranted,” he said. “I intend to have one in the day and one at night. It can always be expanded as it evolves.”

Knox will promote two sergeants to lieutenant in January.
