Student serves as page for Sen. Delph

Indiana State Sen. Mike Delph (R-Carmel) recently welcomed Jacob Fletcher to the Indiana Statehouse as a legislative page.

Fletcher is a student at Zionsville Middle School and is son of Sam and Kerry Fletcher.

“Pages have the opportunity to learn about Indiana’s state government in a hands-on environment,” Delph said. “Students interact with lawmakers and develop a deeper understanding about the legislative process.”

Pages learn about Indiana’s state government through observation and participation. Throughout their experiences, pages interact with senators, sit in on floor proceedings and hand-deliver important messages during session. In addition, students listen to discussion about bills and resolutions while watching senators vote on legislation.
