Middlest is seriously considering a career in music. She is understandably concerned about her ability to support herself if she follows her bliss. A few weeks ago she confided that she is afraid that music will become extinct. I assured her that music is part of our human experience and isn’t going anywhere. As sure as I am that pursuing a career in music will be difficult, I am equally certain that music will survive.
