As private, public and home schools begin another year, parents consider how to set children up for success.
We buy school supplies, consider class options, set home work schedules and offer nutritious snacks.
As beneficial as all this is, we can do better.
School trains children for life. The habits our children develop in school shape their approach to their career after school. If we instill a right focus now, we set our children up for success in whatever they do later.
Do what’s asked. “If only my employees would simply follow directions,” laments a friend and owner of a small business. “I tell them exactly what to do, but do they do it? Almost never.” Employers everywhere echo her cry. Bottom line — employers want employees who can take direction.
