Dorothy Watts, 87, of Zionsville, died Jan. 1, 2013.
She was born in East St. Louis, Ill., May 11, 1925, daughter of Phillip and Lydia Kern. Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, James Watts. She was a graduate of Washington University. Her kind and generous disposition suited her well in her chosen career as one of the earliest social workers in East St Louis.
She will be best remembered for her extraordinary talent for creating Christmas décor. Along with her husband, she owned and operated Watts Christmas Tree Farm for more than 50 years.
She was survived by her three children; Deborah, Janice, David, two grandchildren; Andrew, California and sister Phyllis.
A celebratory pitch-in will take place from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 20, at 9180 Hunt Club Road, Zionsville. In lieu of flowers, bring food and stories for all to share.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Indiana Funeral Care.
