Gary Allen Ballinger, 59, of Zionsville, died June 16, 2009. He was born in Marion to the late John A. and Betty Jean (Williams) Ballinger.
He earned a bachelor of science degree from Marion College and a masters degree from Indiana University.
Ballinger taught for more than 37 years in Wayne Township Schools, most recently at Robey Elementary. He was an avid reader who enjoyed boating and loved spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife Candy Ballinger; daughter Amy Ballinger Carmichael (Ben) and their daughter Addie; sons Taylor, Tyler and Tanner Ballinger; and sisters Cynthia J. Edwards (Terry), Louanne Ferguson (Dr. Stuart) and Judy K. Michael (Steven). He will be greatly missed by all of his family and friends.
A memorial visitation was held on Tuesday, June 23 at Zionsville United Methodist Church with a service celebrating Gary’s life following.
A trust account has been established in Gary’s memory for the benefit of Taylor, Tyler and Tanner Ballinger at Old National Bank in Zionsville in the name of Candace Ballinger.
