The Whitestown Town Council is taking applications for the Whitestown Board of Metropolitian Police Commissioners. Descriptions of the board are posted at www.whitestown.in.gov.
Applicants for the town’s appointments must be residents within the corporate boundaries of the Town of Whitestown. Police commission members must be bonded.
Applicants must be willing to attend regular meetings and commit to taking on responsibility outside of meetings including reading material, preparing written materials and offering feedback to staff and the public. The town council is seeking residents who can bring a wide variety of expertise to the board. Examples of areas of expertise include, but are not limited to, municipal law attorneys, political scientists, government and public policy professors, accountants, and writing specialists. Specific areas of expertise are a preference but not a requirement.
