Zionsville —
A referendum that would have expanded Whitestown into Worth Township was soundly defeated Tuesday, Nov. 6.
A reorganization committee had been working on a plan to merge Worth Township and Whitestown boundaries, finances and some services.
The referendum question was phrased “Shall the Town of Whitestown and Worth Township reorganize as single political subdivision?”
Of the more than 1,800 votes cast on the question, 1,120 (61 percent) were against the reorganization.
