The Zionsville Town Council wants to hear more from the public before making a decision on the proposed stormwater utility fee.
The council tabled a decision on a $3.86 per household fee that would fund the Stormwater Department during its meeting Tuesday night, Sept. 4.
“It feels like we are getting a lot of feedback,” said Councilman Tom Schuler. “Maybe we would be better off to get more feedback and table this.”
Councilwoman Susana Suarez, who voted against the fee during the council’s August meeting, agreed with Schuler.
“It is difficult for me to support this because the times and circumstances have changed (since the Stormwater Utility Board began looking at creating a fee),” she said. “I think it needs a second look, and I think everyone would benefit from some more time to look at it.”
