New way of life

Zionsville — A local couple has made it their mission to offer Zionsville Community High School students the opportunity to be a part of a group called Young Life.

The goal of the group is to share the gospel and build relationships with other students and adults, said Darcy Miller, a Young Life staff member. She and her husband, Andy, who is the area director, have been leading the Zionsville chapter since July 2011.

“We just love the ministry of Young Life and reaching out to high school kids,” Miller said. “This is where our hearts are — to be with high school students and live together.”

Miller said the groups tagline is earning the right to be heard.

“The more that you are around kids and spending time in their lives, the more open and responsive they are to hear about Christ and why it matters to believe,” she said.

The group meets at 7:30 p.m. every Monday night at the Boys and Girls Club of Zionsville. Miller says the group, of about 50 to 60 students, sings songs and plays games together. At the end of the session, there is a short message from the Bible.
