Several subdivisions in Zionsville will now receive police, fire and street services from the Town of Zionsville.
The Zionsville Town Council voted 6 to 1 in favor of reclassifying seven subdivisions from the rural to the urban service district Monday night, Aug. 6. Candace Ulmer voted against the resolution.
Irishman’s Run, Fox Hollow, The Willows, Willow Glen, Willow Ridge, Bridlewood and Hidden Pines, which has not been built yet, were reclassified.
Ulmer asked Paige Sansone, a principal with H.J. Umbaugh and Assoc., why it was considered a wash.
“For those not at the tax cap, they will see an increase in their bills,” Sansone said. “For those at the cap, the town will have more of a circuit breaker loss. It will be offset because the overall rates will decrease because you are spreading out the cost to more people.”
