An apartment complex in Zionsville was one of four named in a lawsuit filed by the National Fair Housing Alliance.
The NFHA named The Reserve at Williams Glen and its parent company Buckingham Realty and Development Company in a lawsuit filed in U.S. District Court Southern District of Indiana.
According to a NFHA release, the lawsuit alleges that since at least 2001, Buckingham has “engaged in a continuous pattern or practice of discrimination against people with disabilities by designing and/or constructing multifamily dwellings, and common-and-public-use areas, with the required accessibility features.”
The lawsuit is based on a joint investigation by the NFHA, the Fair Housing Center of Central Indiana and HOPE Fair Housing Center in Wheaton, Ill.
Amy Nelson, executive director of the Fair Housing Center of Central Indiana, said the investigation began after hearing several complaints.
