The Board of Directors of the Department of Stormwater Management have responded to the concerns of residents about the proposed stormwater utility fee.
Gavin Merriman, stormwater program manager, spoke to the Zionsville Town Council during their agenda meeting Monday morning, July 30.
“We made four major changes to the fee,” he said. “These changes are meant to simplify the rate and respond to some concerns in the community. First is that all single family residential parcels will be charged the same amount. The second change was to eliminate the charge for any undeveloped property. The third change was to implement a three year phase in program. That allows people to budget for that fee. In order to maintain the budget figure of $646,046, the fee was changed to $3.86 to maintain that funding.”
