Residents relay to fight cancer

 

Angela Calliotte, of the Interactive Academy, instructs Lucy Long Friday afternoon, June 15, at Relay for Life in Lions Club Park. Relay for Life, which ran from 10 a.m. Friday, June 15, to 10 a.m. Saturday, June 16, raised money for the American Cancer Society. Denae Barnett, Relay for Life of Zionsville coordinator, said, “Relay for Life is held to remember those we have lost to cancer, to support those who are battling the disease and to work toward the day that no one has to hear the words ‘You have cancer’.” According to the Zionsville Relay for Life Facebook page, posted on Sunday, June 17, the event raised more than $100,000 for cancer research.Photo by Matt Werner/Times Sentinel
