Zionsville Post Office to close early July 3
Noon set as day’s final mail collection
The Zionsville Post Office retail counter will close at noon Friday, July 3 to enable retail employees to spend more time with their families. Post office retail counters will resume regularly scheduled hours of operation on Monday, July 6. Office retail counters will be closed on Saturday, July 4, and there will be no mail delivery.
The last collection for mail deposited in blue collection boxes will also be at noon July 3. All collection points that have a regularly scheduled collection time prior to noon, July 3, will be collected as scheduled. Regular mail delivery for July 3 will be unaffected by the change. P.O. Box mail access will not be impacted by the early closure and the 24 hour access to the Automated Postal Center in the lobby of the Zionsville Post Office will still be available for stamp sales, package mailing and other retail transactions with a debit or credit card.
“As many businesses close early on July 3rd, the number of customers visiting our lobbies greatly diminishes,” Paul Chaffee, Zionsville Postmaster said. “We view this as an opportunity to afford retail employees more time with their families by closing retail operations in most of our locations early on July 3rd.”
Commercial customers are asked to check with their Bulk Mail Acceptance Unit for July 3 hours of operation. Call 1(800)ASK-USPS for more information.
