Commissioners name three to CBV

Lebanon — Mayor Huck Lewis, County Council President Steve Jacob and Greater Zionsville Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Ray Cortopassi have been named to the Boone County Convention and Visitor’s Bureau board.

The appointments were unanimously approved at Monday's meeting, June 22 of the Boone County Board of Commissioners.

Before the meeting, Jeff Wolfe was sworn into office by County Clerk Penny Bogan. Wolfe will complete the term of Third District Commissioner Huck Lewis, who resigned May 23 after being named mayor of Lebanon.

• Asked County Attorney Eileen Sims to draft a resolution that would require companies seeking utility agreements to post a three-year, 10 percent maintenance bond. The commissioners must approve all requests to install utilities — such as gas lines or electric service — in a county road right-of-way.

• Approved closing County Roads 875 W and 690 N near the former Old Mill Run amusement park for about 15 minutes after dark on Friday, July 3 for a fireworks display.

• Took under review proposals for furnishing county insurance coverage from HGB and Lamar and Lamar.

The commissioners tabled:

• Approval of paying bills for infrastructure work in Anson until finance consultant H.J. Umbaugh & Associates can verify the amount remaining in an account from which those bills are paid;

• Awarding a bid for a single-axle dump truck pending review of bids by County Highway Superintendent Tom Kouns.
