My super team

We played our final game of Little League Softball last month at Lions Park, which by the way was the final game of the tournament.

We played double elimination which means each team had to lose twice before they’re out. The final two teams playing were the Cherry Bombers against my team, the Shamrocks. Our team had not lost at all in the tourney yet, so if the Cherry Bombers beat us in the first game, we had to play each other again.

Well, they beat us. A few hours later, we played each other again. It came to the final inning and they were ahead by six runs. We weren’t going to give up though.

All of a sudden, our team started hitting extremely well. At the end of the inning, we were now up by four runs! Now we had to hold them. It was extremely nerve racking for both teams. We held them and won. It was amazing!

The truth is, it wouldn’t have mattered if we had won or lost, we had a great season. We don’t have any superstars on our team but we have a super team. Not only have we all learned to play softball, but we’ve learned to be good sports, teammates, and loyal friends whether we are winning or losing.

I’m so glad I’ve met Emily, Alicia, Victoria, Laura, Gwyneth, Heather, Maddie, Carlin, Jocelyn, Olivia and Nicole. They have become some of my best friends and we have all developed relationships, which I hope will last for a long, long time.

When you are a part of something, it becomes a part of you which in this case is a great thing.
