Charlie Haak, 6, and Joey Tanona, 8, both of Zionsville, pretend to drive a Humvee during the Zionsville Police Department National Night Out Tuesday night, Aug. 7, at the Boone Village Shopping Center. The Humvee was one of several vehicles on display including a fire truck, a special rescue team vehicle and police cars.
Alex He, 6, and Leon He, 4, receive a sticker from Bennii Weldy, Zionsville Fire Department public education officer, Tuesday night, Aug. 7, at Boone Village Shopping Center. Members of ZFD, the Zionsville Police Department and the Boone County Sheriff’s Office were celebrating National Night Out with the community.
“It’s a way for the community to get to know us and see that we’re people too,” ZPD Chief Rob Knox said. “It’s a communitywide meet and greet. It shows people that we work together with the fire department and sheriff’s department, and that law enforcement is a team effort.”
