Donating for homeless veterans

Jenni Russ, left, receives a certificate of appreciation Saturday morning, Nov. 7, from Michael L. Wright, chief of voluntary service for the Richard L. Roudebush VA Medical Center in Indianapolis. Russ, member of the Zionsville Kappa Theta chapter of Epsilon Sigma Alpha, held a donation drive at Akard True Value in Boone Village to raise money and supplies for homeless veterans, collecting things like gloves and toothbrushes. “It's definitely needed,” Wright said, adding that the donations will go to support the long-term homeless shelter aimed at rehabilitating homeless veterans. “I wish everybody did things like this. This kind of thing crosses people's minds, but actually doing it? They did it, and that's what is so amazing.”
