Local church collects food for Lebanon Caring Center

CNHI

St. Francis in the Fields Episcopal Church, 1525 Mulberry St., collected 2,960 pounds of food and other donations Sunday, Aug. 26. Pictured above is the food being loaded into a truck by church members. The food was donated to The Caring Center in Lebanon.

Pat Guiney, parish administrator, said their goal was to collect 1,000 pounds.

“We exceeded our goal and that’s pretty amazing,” she said

    Local artist Adam Seif helps out second-grade students at Eagle Elementary School. For one week in April, Mrs. Urbanski’s art classes at Eagle hosted Seif as part of the PTO-sponsored visiting artist program. Seif has written several children’s books and brought his new book, “The Smarts for Elementary School Survival” to show the students about being creative. Throughout the week, he demonstrated and helped students with drawing techniques and talked about how to find ideas for new stories and characters.
