Boone resident wants to turn light display into a bit of holiday giving

Lebanon — People already pull off to the side of the road to enjoy Tad Braner’s festive Christmas decorations in the 900 block of John Bart Road. And he’s not done yet.

Though his yard is already full of lighted displays including Santa, snowmen, soldiers, carolers, a nativity scene and candy canes, he still has “a bunch more” lights to put up.

“I’m hoping this catches on down the road,” Braner said, adding that more people are already decorating outside this year than last year, when he started this passion.

Braner still plans to put out more decorations, like deer, angels, stars and wreaths. He started decorating on Veterans Day weekend this year, but said next year he will start much earlier. Plus, next year may be even bigger as he has a few things on his decorating wish list — a 58-foot train and a horse and sleigh.

See Wednesday's paper for the full story.
