Lebanon Rock Church distributed toys to around 825 children Wednesday afternoon, Dec. 19, at the church’s annual toy drive distribution event.
The 825 children represented about 270 families, said Pastor Matt Skiles. That number is about average for the church. Last year’s 1,100 kids set an all-time high record.
Skiles expected the number of children and families to rise Wednesday as people who did not register showed up. These families were put on a stand-by list, and church volunteers will buy toys for these families today and tomorrow. Last year, 47 families — 115 children — signed up for stand-by.
